Asked Questions |
- How can I receive new channels?
> To receive new channels please perform an Automatic
search in the Installation menu and they will be added to
the channel list, please refer to the Installation section
of your manual. If channels change position you will need
to carry out a Default Setting in the Installation menu
:
1. Press MENU
2. Select Installation and press OK
3. Enter your password (Default = 0000)
4. Select Default Setting and press OK
5. Select YES and press OK
6. Enter your password (Default = 0000)
Note: The receiver will then restart and search
for the channels again.
- I have connected the TV and Humax
box but I get no picture on my TV?
> Please ensure that the Green LED is on the front of
the Humax receiver, if it is not please
- press the Yellow Standby button
on your Remote Control.
> If no picture comes on automatically then please select
the correct A/V channel on your TV.
- I cannot control the volume on my
TV?
> You will first need to setup the Humax Remote control
for this; please refer to the Manipulating your TV using
Remote Control section of the manual. We cannot guarantee
that all TVs will work, but if none of the codes in the
Manual work correctly then please contact our Customer Service
Helpline as more codes may be available.
- I get a black border around some
of the channels, how can I get a full picture?
> You will need to change the Display Format to Centre
Cut-out in the A/V Control menu. Alternatively change the
settings to find the best for your TV set. Please refer
to the Setting Preferences section of the manual.
- Can you manually search for individual
Multiplexes/Transponders?
> Yes using Manual Search in the menu, if you require
the Multiplex information please contact our Customer Service
Helpline. The Manual search also offers you a Network search
option.
- What is my Password?
> The Default password is "0000"; you can change
this in the Parental Control menu.
- Does the receiver start-up at the
same channel when there is a Power cut?
> Yes
- Can you organise the channels the
way you want to?
> Not on the Main TV or Radio channel list. It is possible
to create up to 5 of your own Favourite groups.
- Can I use the Remote to control
my TV? If so is my TV definitely supported
> Yes you can control your TV using the Humax Remote.
We cannot guarantee that all TVs will work, but if none
of the codes in the Manual work correctly then please contact
our Customer Service Helpline as more codes may be available.
- Can I upgrade the software?
> Software is upgraded using OAD. Humax will release
updates and these will update automatically, please refer
to Software Upgrade section of the manual.
> The software will also be available from our HCSA website
whenever new software is released
- How many channels can I store on
the receiver?
> All available Freeview channels, as well as any channels
they send in the future.
- How can I receive new channels in
the future?
> To receive new channels please perform an Automatic
search and they will be added to the channel list, please
refer to the Installation section of your manual. If channels
change position you will need to carry out a Default Setting
in the Installation menu,
- Can I record a Digital channel and
still watch a different analogue channel, or Vice-Versa?
> Yes, this will depend on the connection method, normally
meaning tuning your VCR. Please refer to the manual or contact
our Customer Service Helpline for assistance.
- Will Humax honour the warranty period
if I cannot contact my dealer in the future?
> Yes, but please keep proof of purchase to make things
easier.
- Can I connect this box to another
room in the house or to another DTT receiver?
> Yes you can. All Humax models have an RF Modulator.
This will allow you to connect a second receiver so you
can get the signal for Freeview in another location. It
will also allow you to feed the signal to a second TV.
- Can I program the receiver to switch
to a channel at a particular time for recording purposes?
> Yes, you can set 20 Schedules in the menu so that the
receiver will switch to the channel, date, and time specified.
Although to record you will also need to set your VCR. When
more EPG information is available you can set Reservations
by selecting the programme in the Guide.
- Can I get Dolby Digital sound on
all channels?
> No, this will only be available if sent by the broadcaster.
You can connect to a Digital Amplifier using the Optical
output and get stereo sound.
- Can I have two different Video Outputs
on the TV and VCR Scart outputs?
> Yes this is possible in the A/V Control menu. You can
select RGB, CVBS, and S-Video for the TV Scart and CVBS
and S-Video on the VCR Scart.
- Can I connect to my Hi-fi?
> Yes this is possible using the L-Audio and R-Audio
RCA outputs.
