HUMAX HD-receiver certified by Premiere
Serial Production of PR-HD1000 started - January 16th, 2006

Oberursel/Taunus, January 16th, 2006 - HUMAX, leading in technology and trend setter in the field of Digital Consumer Electronics, passed all tests on Friday, January 13th and thanks to outstanding engineer work and technical know how therefore received the Premiere certification for its HDTV receiver PR-HD1000. The HUMAX satellite decoder is based on MPEG4/H.264 standard and is one of the first receivers for the new television experience in Germany.

HUMAX is the first manufacturer that is going to supply large quantities of its innovative HD receiver to the specialized trade at the end of January and therefore makes it possible for all viewers in Germany to enjoy HDTV.

The PR-HD1000 receives high definition pictures in MPEG4/H.264 as well as in MPEG2 compression modus via new DVB-S2 standard. So the viewers have the opportunity to experience HDTV directly and still watch their favourite program in classical digital television quality.

HUMAX will supply a cable version of the PR-HD1000 in spring 2006. That way viewers of cable TV will also be able to see the sharp HD pictures on TV. The PR-HD1000C will be perfectly equipped like its satellite brother. Besides the integrated CA system Nagravision, two common interface slots, HDMI out and numerous Scarts the HUMAX HD receiver has an optical digital out for crystal clear surround sound and a sensational movie theatre experience inside the living room.

HUMAX PR-HD1000 is available at the cost of Euro 399,- or as subsidized bundle in combination with Premiere Komplett and Premiere HD starting at Euro 149,- in stores or directly at Premiere.
