AEPOC is the European Association for the Protection
of Encrypted Works and Services. Its members include
33 of the major players in the European digital television
and telecommunications sector. In particular, AEPOC
brings together and represents operators in 4 entrepreneurial
sectors: Television Channels, Suppliers of Conditional
Access Technology, Supplies of Transmission Infrastructures
and Producers of Hardware.

Freeview
It's the new, free digital service providing up to 30
free digital TV and radio channels plus a new whole
world of interactive services. It's broadcast from transmitters
and received via a rooftop aerial.
It works like traditional TV but because the signals
are digital you need an adapter to convert them (or
a new integrated set with an adapter built-in). This
means more channels can be transmitted with extra features
such as interactivity and widescreen pictures.
