Software Download

Before starting the procedure please power off your Humax product using the rear ON/OFF switch (if available) or disconnecting from the mains.
NB To download software via a PC you do not need to have your product connected to a TV or the aerial. You will only need a power connection.

Connect a Null Modem/Serial cable (9 Pin Female to 9 Pin Female) between the COM port of your PC and the RS232 connection on your receiver.

    


NB The cable required must be female to female with no adapters

1. Download the WDN4OAK+ tool or the Formula for NEO tool.
2. Extract the ZIP file to a directory on your PC.
3. Double click on the Setup.exe file and follow the on screen instruction to install the tool.
4. Now click on START > PROGRAMS > WDN4OAK+ > WDN4OAK Or START > PROGRAMS
   > Formula for NEO > Run Formula for Neo

When the message appears on your PC power on the Humax product from the rear ON/OFF switch or from the mains.
The download process will now start and you will see the progress bar on the PC to STB window.
ON the receiver you will see D00, D10, D20, etc; when programming the software the display will change to P10, P20, P30
Please do not switch off the receiver until you see END on the front display. Your receiver is now upgraded.
Now power off from the rear, reconnect to your TV and aerial (if applicable) and power on the PVR.

Q. I am unable to install the download tool
A. The download tools are ZIP files. To install the program please extract the files using WinZip, Winrar, or Compress (Zip) tool.

Q. WDN4OAK+ does not install on my PC
A. Users with Windows XO may have problems installing the WDN4OAK+ tool, in this case please use Formula for NEO

Q. The download does not start
A. Please make sure that the cable is connected correct between your PC and receiver
Check that you are using the correct cable
Check that you are selecting the correct COM Port on the download tool
Close any programs that you have running in your Taskbar
Restart your PC and retry the download

Q. I receive the E-UT error on my receiver's display
A. This is caused when there is an error in the transfer. Restart your PC, reconnect the cable, and try the download again.

Q. I receive the E-ID error
A. You may be trying to download the wrong software. Please check the HDF file is the correct version for your model. Alternatively email us with your receiver's STATUS details

Q. I do not have a COM Port, how can I download the software?
A. It is possible to use a USB to serial adapter to download the software, for further details please email us.

Q. I do not have a Windows PC, how can I download the software?
A. We do not have any tools at the current time to download the software with operating systems other than Windows.

Q. I do not have a PC, how can I download the software?
A. We do intend to release as many updates as possible via OAD. We will place information on our Australia website www.humaxdigital.com/australia whenever the next release date is available.
